"Magmanaut" - resilience meets punky pessimism

Open the knives in your pockets, the moshers from Enojado are asking you to dance. Their new album "Magmanaut" will be released on May 24th.

The album was created from a handful of riffs between 2021 and 2023. At a time when the world was falling further and further apart at the seams and was characterized by maximum uncertainty, their rehearsal room and Roland "Role" Wiegner's Tonmeisterei became a therapy center, cocktail bar and sweaty club concert.

Since 2007, the Tonmeisterei in Oldenburg has been Enojado's preferred song and sound kitchen - this time with the approach of keeping the structures simpler, less bulky and paying homage to the sound influences of their own gods. This Olympus is home to pretty much everything from early punk and hardcore, heavy, doom and death metal as well as stoner and rock.
The vocals were recorded for the first time at Dennis Hadrika's Postkamp Studios. The result is eight songs pressed in vinyl that fit a time that couldn't be crazier.

Enojado is not a complicated band and doesn't try to be anyone else on their album. The songs bang to the point and also make room for quiet moments when necessary. "Magmanaut" remains handmade, without much bling-bling, with a dose of grinning irony.

BIOGRAPHY:

Enojado has been unbreakable for more than two decades. The band was founded in Hamm in Westphalia in 2000. The Ox fanzine once described them as follows: "Mighty riffs, fat rolling grooves, thundering drums, a few sneering breaks, plus super laid-back vocals. Smokeheads out there, what more could you want?"
Since its formation, the band has released several albums, EPs and singles and sweated out countless shows throughout Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain. The band reformed in 2011 and has been touring as a three-piece ever since. The current line-up has existed since 2017.
